WIN Exchange didn’t start as a formal concept with the glamour and polish of the industry.
In 2019, I began by helping students pay tuition in a foreign land, bridging the gap for families settling obligations across borders. This was the early stage of being a solution provider to the "foreign currency gap" in Nigeria.
When we transitioned into digital assets in January 2021, my mission didn't change. I launched WIN Exchange not to pivot into speculation but to expand and formalise our infrastructure and processes.
One of the significant challenges in the industry that no one wants to talk about is Dirty Liquidity.
This was a major learning experience of our early years in the Wild West of crypto trading & exchanges and also a persistent major issue with the P2P trading.
Which, unfortunately, too many people don't understand; they don’t ask where the money came from. They don’t verify the merchant; they just want the spread.

We made a significant choice early to never contaminate our pool. We would rather lose a trade of short-term profit than risk having our thousands of clients on the run from bank & fraud issues.

Yes, regarding the launch of the WIN Academy, it isn't a "grand strategy" but is born out of a desire to see our people win in the crypto space. And also help derisk the crypto space by educating the regulators, newcomers, and even established players on the necessary framework and playbook needed for a fast and reliable crypto and gift card processing across West Africa.
For five years, I’ve ignored the hype to focus on the system, because to survive in this loud market, we have to ensure a consistent and necessary playbook that creates a win for all parties across the market cycles.
